21st century is the most educated century but also the
most violent over the history of humanity .violence is one of the most
problematic issues our society is facing nowadays. The most common description of violence is the use of physical force to, abuse,
damage, destroy, and to injure, and this is intolerable. According to the WHO
definition, violence is actual and intended use of power to a person or against
a community that results in physiological harm, injury, maladjustment and
death. In addition to physical injuries, people who experience or eyewitness
violence in the healthcare place are at risk of emotional repercussion that can
lead to job dissatisfaction, burnout and decrease productivity. As a result,
violence compromises the quality of care and puts healthcare workers at risk
moreover, and it can lead to financial loss in the health sector. Violence has
created havoc throughout the world. Every country in the world is facing some
kind of violence or the other. Violence is a leading cause of deaths and disability.
Over half a million people die each year due to violence .violence of causality
can have far-reaching consequences, including physical and mental health
problems.

"Types
of violence."
The violence that health care workers are prone to in a
workplace can be classified as follows:
Physical, emotional, harassments and threats. Another
classification of the disorder is,
• type 1, by intent crime
• type 2, abuse from consumer to worker
• type 3, disorder from worker to another worker
• type 4, interpersonal relations
However, the second type of damage is the most
common one

"Effects of violence".
There is a
growing worldwide debt on the effects of violence and its impact on the quality
of life of healthcare workers. The workplace is often sunk by several
challenges that include dealing with co-morbidities, organizational norms often
challenge occupational hazards etc., The quality of life of healthcare workers,
so there is growing need to examine the after mark effects of violence on
quality of life of health professionals.

After conduction and evaluation of almost 62 studies
on workplace violence, following criteria's are recommended as a systematic
review of violence effects on healthcare workers. (1) physical, (2)
psychological disorders, (3) emotional disturbance, (4) decrease working
ability, (5)impolite relationship with patients/quality of care, (6) social
anxiety, and (7) financial problems, (8)Psychological (e.g., post-traumatic
stress, depression) and emotional (e.g., anger, fear) consequences and (9)
impact on work functioning (e.g., sick leave, job satisfaction) were the most
periodic and essential effects of workplace violence.
