Organic

What are organic Cosmetics? What makes
them unique?
Organic
formulation or cosmetics have many definitions and labeling
methods to begin with. This usually means that a variety of laws are applicable
to the regulation of plant growth in certified organic cosmetics. These rules
may sometimes be country-specific and consortium-based, and sometimes these
rules are guidelines and legally binding.
Natural cosmetics are
made from products that have been certified genuine by one of the several
certifying organizations working around the world. An organic ingredient (or
natural ingredient) is technically a processed ingredient without synthetic
chemical compounds.

Organic
cosmetics are made from the best natural portion of plants
and flowers that, in contrast with chemical-based cosmetics, do not cause skin
irritation. Since organic cosmetics don't use synthetic chemicals on it, you
can be sure your skin gets the best possible treatment.

The primary criterion for gaining organic cosmetics certification is the proportion of natural ingredients in the finished product. This must be at least 95%. The second criteria concern the balance of certain natural ingredients, which are often produced organically. There must be at least 10%, but all the natural ingredients are organic in some cases. There is thus significant space for maneuver in respect of this product group.

Important distinctions
between organic and natural cosmetics:
1) Organic is
characterized more strictly than natural
In most countries, the
use of the word natural is in no way limited. So essentially, you can say that
even though it's far away, every product is standard. A cosmetic product may
contain highly refined, and potentially even harmful, natural ingredients.
There are major natural cosmetics products on the
market, however. The trick to this is reading the ingredients. It lists the
elements from the highest to the lowest number. If you do not understand the
INCI list and the ingredients' scientific names, search for natural cosmetics
certification, or use an app.
Certified organic cosmetics have a strict
description and are regulated in the US by, for example, the FDA (Food and Drug
Administration). Even if a product label states that the product is natural or
organic, always check the ingredients or look for a certification.
2) Certification
There are plenty of
various natural and organic cosmetic
certifications. What are the gaps between the approvals?
Typically they vary but
not much between the percentages of natural
or organic ingredients needed to meet the certification requirements. To
receive the certification, a product does not need to be 100 percent made with
organic or natural ingredients. Cosmos and FI-Natura, for example, mandate that
95 percent of the components must be of natural or natural origin.
FI-Natura also needs
the remaining 5 percent to be certified as natural cosmetics ingredients. The natural and organic certifications also
often require the products not to be tested on livestock. They usually do not
contain GM ingredients, controversial additives, parabens, and phthalates, or
synthetic colors or fragrances.
3) Product Origin
Certified organic
products come from organic farming, meaning that no pesticides or fertilizers
were used, and the overall safety of the environment was taken into account in
the farming process.
What happens to natural
ingredients? In skincare products, the most popular natural ingredient is
water. Other natural ingredients that have not been organically farmed include
salt, clay, wild botanical, berries, and herbs. They may be the purest and
most sustainable, but they can not be considered organic unless they are
harvested from the certified organic forest.
Natural ingredients
also include animal-derived ingredients such as beeswax and honey. If you want
to avoid products extracted from animals, you must also ensure if the product
is vegan.
Angel-dusting and
green-washing is a painful procedure within the cosmetics industry. It is not
unusual for a mainstream skincare product to include an adolescent volume of
aloe Vera to mark the product as "aloe Vera lotion." There is always
such a small amount of the work that is in no way benefits the skin.
